Honoring Aine with an inspired recipe! When calling on Aine, use apples! Call on Aine while creating this warm and delicious dish!

Warm Apple Pie Ingredients:

  • Premade Pie Crust (unless you want to make it from scratch!)
  • 6-8 Granny Smith apples
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 3/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 Tbsp Cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp Lemon or Lime Juice
  • 1 Cup Apple Cider

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Make the crust according to the package or take out of package. Roll out on a floured surface and transfer to pie dish. You will want to gently push the dough into the pan to assure there are no air pockets. Place in freezer while you prepare the filling.
  3. Whisk sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and cornstarch together in a heavy sauce pan. Once this is whisked together, add the apple cider and lemon or lime juice. Allow to cook on medium to low heat until a mixture gets thick.
  4. Add sauce to a bowl and place in refrigerator. While this is cooling, peel apples and remove the core. Slice apples into quarter inch pieces and then place in a bowl. Microwave for about 1.5 minutes. Add the sauce from the refrigerator.
  5. Remove the pie crust from the freezer and add the mixture. Ensure that the apple slices are evenly spread and are laying down on the crust.
  6. Place in oven at 375 degrees for about 25-30 minutes or until the crust is slightly brown.
  7. Pie will be hot. Allow to rest for about 45 minutes before slicing.
  8. Enjoy!
