Pomegranate Vinaigrette Dressing Inspired by Hera

Greek goddess Hera is the Goddess of both women and marriage. She was the daughter of Cronus and Rhea, while also the older sister and wife of Zeus. Hera represents renewal and has been known to be one of the most beautiful goddesses.

When Zeus fathered Heracles with a mortal woman, Hera was jealous and did not want to help Zeus in his quest to help Heracles gain the divine powers that his other children had. Goddess Hera was drugged by Zeus so that he could have baby Heracles nurse on her. She was angry when she woke and moved baby Heracles away from her breast. In doing so, drops of Hera’s milk dropped to the floor and turned into beautiful calla lilies.

When creating an altar for Hera, many use pomegranates. This is what has inspired the following healthy recipe to aid in gaining more Vitamin C to radiate our beauty, both inner and outer.
