Description
THIS LISTING IS FOR A REPRODUCTION ON CANVAS OF MY ORIGINAL LYSSA OIL PAINTING
Lyssa is the Greek spirit of madness, wild rage, and uncontrollable emotion. She’s not a goddess, but a daimon, a powerful force that affects gods, mortals, and animals. Born from Nyx and the blood of Uranus, she represents the chaos that takes over when reason is lost and emotions run wild.
She’s best known for making people go mad, like when Hera ordered her to drive Heracles into insanity. But Lyssa isn’t evil, she simply follows the will of higher gods. Her presence is a warning about what happens when anger is left unchecked or when pain and stress push the mind too far.
Lyssa is often shown with wild eyes, messy hair, and intense energy. She moves like a storm, reminding us that madness often comes not from cruelty, but from deep grief, trauma, or divine influence. To understand Lyssa is to face the raw, emotional side of being human.
