For more than two hundred years, while her images were forbidden, La Santa Muerte’s devotees kept her hidden in medallions worn underneath their clothes, where no one could take her away. Now you can wear her openly… or keep her close, just for you.
She is La SantÃsima Muerte, the Most Holy Death… La Flaquita, the Skinny One… La Niña Blanca, the White Girl… and La Madrina, the Godmother. And I believe, as so many do, that long before these names she was Mictecacihuatl, the Aztec Goddess, Lady of the Dead, who watched over the bones of the ancestors. On November 1, 2001, Doña Queta placed her statue on the street in Tepito, Mexico City, and La Santa Muerte stepped out of the shadows. Today millions honor her as the Holy Mother who accepts everyone, without judgment, with love that has no conditions at all.

“You are loved exactly as you are, right now. Bring me what you have been carrying… and let me hold it.”
