Hera, the Greek goddess of women and marriage, was the daughter of the Titans, Cronus and Rhea, and older sister and wife of Zeus. She was said to be the most beautiful of the goddesses. She represents renewal and is the guardian of all unions between two people.

Zeus fathered a son, Heracles, with a mortal woman, and wanted him to have divine powers like the rest of his children. But in her jealously, Hera would not help him. Zeus drugged Hera so baby Heracles could nurse at her breast. When Hera woke up, she was furious and pushed the baby aside. As she did so, drops of her milk fell to the ground and became gorgeous calla lilies, radiating her beauty.
