Description
THIS LISTING IS FOR A REPRODUCTION ON CANVAS OF MY ORIGINAL ERIS OIL PAINTING
Eris is the Greek goddess of strife, discord, and rivalry. She is often seen as a troublemaker who stirs up conflict, whether friends, families, or even entire nations. Her most famous act was throwing a golden apple labeled “to the fairest” among the goddesses, which led to jealousy, arguments, and eventually the Trojan War. Wherever Eris appears, tension rises and hidden problems come to light.
But Eris isn’t just about causing chaos for fun. She shows that conflict can lead to truth and change. Even though her presence can be uncomfortable, she helps reveal what’s weak, false, or broken. In this way, she forces people to face reality and grow stronger.
Eris is often shown as wild or shadowy. She’s not a comforting goddess, but one we recognize during tough times and when facing challenges and inner struggles. To understand Eris is to accept that life isn’t always smooth, and that sometimes conflict is needed to uncover what’s real.
