Hathor, Crystal Dew
As the daughter of the sun, Hathor represents the sensual aspects of femininity and procreation.
Because her worship stretches back to pre-dynastic times, we find Hathor identified with many local Goddesses, and it can be said that all the Goddesses were forms of Hathor.
She was originally a personification of the Milky Way and was a sky Goddess known as “The Mistress of Heaven” and the “Mother of Mothers”. She is the Goddess of women, fertility, children and childbirth and also the Goddess of Beauty and patron of the Arts. Not conceited, she was assured of her own beauty and goodness and she loved beautiful and good things. Known as the “Mistress of Life” she enjoyed life at its fullest and thus was the Patron of Art, Music and Dance.
Because of her fertile, life-bringing nature, she is also the Goddess who revives the deceased and welcomes them into the nether world, thus she is often represented in New Kingdom Theban tombs embracing the deceased.
